Singapore Garden Festival 2022: Floral Installations, Tranquil Bamboo Displays & Whimsical Gardens
Singapore Garden Festival is back! This year's edition will have a variety of flower and horticultural shows, competitions and displays located at ION Orchard, Ngee Ann City and Singapore Botanic Gardens from now till 9 August 2022. There's something for everyone from avid gardeners and casual plant enthusiasts to Instagrammers who can't resist a pretty nature display.
Floral Installations
Shoppers at ION Orchard can leave the concrete world for a bit and explore the two floral installations by local award-winning floral designers.
The "Echoes of Almeda" by Harijanto recreates the dream-like experience of walking along a serene pathway – utilising bamboo accents, flowers and a fibreglass pond.

After that tranquil experience, head to the "Vessel Garden" display by John Lim and his team from This Humid House. Inspired by archaeology and the relationship between vessels and flora, the installation features vessels that are significant to Southeast Asian cultural and anthropological heritage, along with aquatic plants and subsistence plants.

Team "The Tree Musketeers" from Institute of Technical Education (ITE) emerged as winners with their display, titled "The Sage Tree of Atlantis". Their stunning creation portrays the underwater realm of Atlantis, which has been affected by the exploitation of its precious resources. Central to the display is a Safe Tree constructed using recycled plastic water bottles symbolising the hope that one day such plastic waste will bloom to serve new purposes.
Also at Singapore Botanic Gardens is the Orchid Competition at National Orchid Garden where you'll find the region's best orchid plants, as well as award-winning orchid varieties. Singapore residents can enjoy free admission to the National Orchid Garden from 30 July to 9 August 2022.
