Does the number 1028 ring a bell? It might sound familiar as that's the name of a Taiwanese makeup brand that was once available in Singapore until Sasa exited in 2019 and it left along with the retailer. Three years later, 1028 has finally returned to our shores both in stores and online.

First impressions of 1028 were stellar; the makeup range ticks all the boxes. The products have sleek and trendy packaging, pocket-friendly prices, and wearable shades that are perfect for creating Korean-style makeup looks.
1028 also prides itself in its product formulation ethos, which prioritises cosmetics that complement Asian facial contours and skin tones.

1028 Opium Poppy Matte Velvet Gloss ($18.90)

The unique formula first apples like a gloss but dries down to a powdery cream that has a velvety matte finish. While it has the look and full coverage of a liquid lipstick, it feels light on the lips and doesn't have any uncomfortable dryness. Create bold, defined lips or dab a little at the centre of the lips and blend out for that on-trend diffused look. Try the shade Dear Rose, a mid-tone rosy milk tea shade that will flatter most skin tones.
These velvet glosses are part of the new Opium Poppy collection of red tones inspired by the red poppy flower. Other products include a range of matte eyeshadows and blushes.

This eyeliner might be known for its ultra-thin nib that measures just 0.01mm, but what really made an impression was it's highly dense pigmentation and quick-dry formula that made it easy and fast to apply. It's available in Black and Espresso.
1028 Extend Curl Waterproof Mascara ($21.90)

This lengthening mascara creates a natural look and has a thin wand with a tapered end that helps get into the lower lashes and hard-to-reach corners. It's also enriched with vitamin B5 and collagen to condition and strengthen lashes.
