#2: Score unique fashion & homeware at Home Garden, a hidden shophouse boutique

Home Garden Boutique SingaporePhoto from Home Garden

Many homeowners in Singapore love that minimalist Japanese aesthetic, so stores like Standard Products by Daiso and Nitori are highly favoured among the masses. But if you’re someone who prefers something a little more kitschy and eclectic, then Home Garden, a hidden boutique in a protected shophouse, is where you’d wanna be.

This store has a mishmash of vintage and designer homeware, including iridescent trays, rainbow cups that are reminiscent of stained glass windows, and ornate Parisian cutlery sets. Beyond the home items are also curated fashion picks like flowy dresses with corset bodices, designer Japanese lingerie, and shoes.

The boutique is almost like an art gallery - each item is unique in its own way. You might catch some art pieces from independent artists hanging on the walls, and if you’re lucky, there might just be a floral display during your time of visit.

#3: Personalise your own “Bearbrick” figurine at ArtyParty

Bear flow art jamming at ArtyPartyPhoto from ArtyParty

Bear flow art is the latest art jamming trend, where instead of painting on a canvas, you’ll be mixing various colours in a cup to pour over a Bearbrick-inspired figurine. The result is a one-of-a-kind, marble-effect art piece that doubles up as decor for your home, and you can get this done at ArtyParty, an art studio at Bugis that allows patrons to go wild with different forms of painting.

Other than regular paint in all shades of the rainbow, there’s also neon paint to give your new bear friend an edgy glow.
