The effortless je ne sais quoi of Parisian style meets American sensibility—that’s exactly what you’ll find at The Frankie Shop. With staples that read like a dream wardrobe, think oversized blazers, minimalist separates, and well-tailored trousers, the brand has become somewhat of a mecca for fashionistas who flock to its stores in New York and Paris. Thankfully, for us in Asia, the label ships internationally.

Started by Gaelle Drevet, French journalist turned fashion entrepreneur, The Frankie Shop is a cult-favourite among fashion bloggers. Aside from its in-house brand, the multi-label store also stocks brands with a similar aesthetic, such as Loulou Studio, JW Anderson, and Sid Neigum. It’s also no stranger to crossovers with brands like Ilio Smeraldo, with which it recently launched a collection of terry cloth footwear, from sandals to clogs.

To say the brand is best known for its collection of blazers would be an understatement. Under its outerwear section, you’ll find a sheer variety of trench coats, vests, jackets, as well as puffers. Though most of the outerwear pieces are less suited to our tropical weather, the lightweight blazers can be easily thrown over a cropped top or styled with a pair of structured shorts.

Having owned a few of their blazers, I highly recommend the free-sized Pia Blazer if you’re a petite girl as the sleeves fall nicely at the wrists. Alternatively, the Kenya Blazer in midweight traditional suiting fabric offers a similar, relaxed silhouette. Those who prefer an even more comfy fit will appreciate the popular Frankie Oversized Boyfriend Blazer, which basically looks stylish worn over anything.

If you’re looking to build a wardrobe of versatile pieces, The Frankie Shop’s a good start. Though prices tend to range from US$50 onwards, the quality of their products make it worth the investment. They’ve even got a section called The Essentials, where you can shop for basic shorts, cropped tees, and shirts in a variety of striking and neutral hues.
