8 New Japanese Beauty Launches In SG In May 2022 - Anti-Frizz Hair Care, Perfume, Lifting Lash Primer
We’re back once again with our round-up of new beauty launches for May 2022 and this time, we’re focusing specially on J-beauty - just because we’ve come across that many this month. Well, plus the fact that we’re fans of how Japanese beauty products never disappoint in terms of quality and efficacy. Here are some of the best new Japanese skincare, makeup, hair care, and perfumes that are absolute must-tries - both the drugstore and high-end variety.
#1: Heroine Make - Curl Keep Mascara Base Waterproof

Turns out you can get perky lashes without having to get extensions or a lash lift. All you need is Heroine Make’s Curl Keep Mascara Base Waterproof - a lash primer that coats even the shortest lashes to provide a natural-looking curl and allow your mascara to stand out more boldly. Concurrently, the serum in the formula helps nourish your eyelashes to keep them healthy and less prone to breakage.
Upon using this, I found that my mascara applied more smoothly, without any clumpy bits or my individual lash strands sticking together. This game-changer has since become a staple of my eye makeup routine!

If you haven’t heard of Hair Kitchen before, that’s because they’re a new entrant in Singapore. This sustainable hair care brand mainly makes use of natural ingredients in their formulas, with the logic that since fruits and vegetables can thrive even in harsh conditions, harnessing that same power for our hair would help improve and maintain its quality. An added bonus is that no sulphates, silicones, parabens, and other nasties are used, and their packaging is eco-friendly.

The sunscreen from Shiseido’s sister brand d program has gotten a level up, whereby other than simply being able to protect your skin from UV rays, it also shields against pollution and grime with a special skin protection layer and anti-static function that helps “repel” dust and fine particles. On top of that, the antioxidant-infused formulas provide hydration and give your complexion a smooth, radiant look.

Okay, we’re cheating a little here, since Kenzo is technically a French luxury brand. However, it was founded by Japanese designer Kenzo Takada, and includes plenty of Asian influences. Plus, the new Flower by Kenzo Poppy Bouquet Eau de Toilette launch is way too irresistible to ignore!
Bringing to mind strolls through a Japanese flower market, this poppy scent also emphasises floral fragrances of the Damask Rose, Japanese Sambac, and Golden Gardenia, complemented with Tea Leaves and Mandarin Essence. It’s also made without animal-derieved ingredients, with responsible packaging that’s kinder to the earth.
