Jacquemus X Nike’s Sensual Sportswear: Bike Shorts, Backless Dress, Pleated Skirt, & More
Your sporty summer essentials are sorted, now that Jacquemus has announced a 15-piece collection with Nike. Set to drop on June 28, the debut collaboration between the two brands is a marriage of the French luxury fashion house’s body-conscious aesthetic and the American sporting brand’s technically-driven activewear.

While Jacquemus is best known for his minimalist linen dresses with deliberate drapes and barely-there straps, contrasted by colourful and mini handbags; there’s no doubt sport was always a big part of the label’s DNA. In his Hawaii, Provence, and Paris fashion shows, Simon Porte Jacquemus showcased sporty essentials like swimwear, hiking boots, and even scuba gear.

Jacquemus said: “For this collaboration with Nike, I wanted to create a collection that reinterprets athletic women’s sportswear in a minimal way. I have always been inspired by vintage ACG pieces and Nike campaigns from the ’90s.
Having this imagery in mind, we designed women’s athletic wear with sensuous details and neutral colours, along with my own interpretation of the Humara — my favourite Nike shoe. It was important for the collection to be accessible, for all bodies, and to be a natural blend of Jacquemus style and Nike performance.”

Almost three years in the making, this new collection features neutral-toned pieces brimming with effortless chic and French allure. Standout pieces include a pair of pearl white bike shorts made without seams thanks to Nike’s specially engineered knit, as well as a backless dress held together by a sturdy strap and a Nike logo clasp.
Other exclusive items include Humara sneakers with a tiny Nike swoosh, a bucket hat for outdoor adventures, as well as a pleated skirt that resembles the ones worn on the court by the designer’s favourite players Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu.

“I wanted to use this collection to speak to a larger audience. It was super important to me also for this to not be an elitist collaboration—to have something that everyone can wear,” he adds.
The collection will be available exclusively on Jacquemus' website from June 28.
