This Labrador Just Adopted 9 Ducklings And It's Probably The Cutest Thing You'll See Today
We've probably seen more cute animal videos and photos on Facebook or Instagram than we signed up for but here's another one to add on to your list.
Warning: Cute content ahead.
Fred, a 10-year-old labrador recently took 9 ducklings under his paw at Mountfitchet Castle, a tourist attraction near Stansted Airport in Essex, UK.
Jeremy Goldsmith, one of the Fred's and the attraction owners, found the ducklings waddling around alone 'looking a little bit lost' with their mother nowhere to be found. As they were too young to fend for themselves, they decided to bring them into the castle's care.
Fred, the resident dog at Mountfitchet Castle, took them into his care the moment he laid eyes on them.

The ducklings are said to be sleeping in the dog basket with Fred and would follow him around as though he was their mother.
They have even followed him into the castle moat for a swim, staff said.
Fred has been the 'resident dog' for some time, with the castle being a home to other animal species such as goats, chickens, ducks and peacocks.
According to the attraction's staff, "He's got a lovely nature and has grown up around rescued animals."

"They absolutely adore him and he has now resigned himself to being a stay-at-home dad looking after the nine baby ducklings," Mr Goldsmith said.
