Every bride wants to look her best on her wedding day. It’s not unusual for brides-to-be to start on their beauty treatments and a tailored skincare routine in the months leading up to the big day.

We got content creator Nicole Chang Min, who recently wedded actor James Seah in a gorgeous ceremony at 1-Atico in ION Sky, to share her bridal beauty routine and other helpful beauty tips.

Read on for her beauty tips for brides-to-be!

#1 Mask up

In the three days leading up to her wedding, Nicole applied Porcelain Skincare’s Hydrocare Bio Cellulose Mask every day to keep her skin hydrated, smooth and glowy. Her bridal beauty routine also includes paring down her skincare routine and switching out most of the products for Porcelain Skincare, keeping it simple but effective in balancing her skin’s pH levels.

#2 Do up a mood board to help your styling team

To ensure that your makeup trial goes as smoothly as possible, do up a mood board of beauty looks that you’d like to emulate. That way, your makeup artist would have a better idea of what you like. Don’t forget to also show them your wedding dress and any accessories you’ll be wearing!

And here’s a tip from Nicole “It’s important for your makeup artist to understand what’s flattering on your features… and don’t be shy to voice out on any changes or improvements you’d like to make. It is your big day after all!”

#3 Doing an outdoor shoot? Have everything you need to stay cool

Singapore’s weather can be rather unforgiving. If you’re thinking about doing an outdoor pre-wedding shoot, it’s important to keep cool so that your makeup stays fresh and you don’t end up looking like a hot mess! The secret to Nicole and James' effortlessly cool wedding pics

“Tissues to dab at your perspiration, umbrella to shield you from the sun and ice water to stay cool and hydrated!” Nicole reveals.

#4 Use transfer-proof lipstick for the big day

Your makeup artist should already know this, but if you’re doing your own makeup, be sure to use transfer-proof lipstick! You wouldn’t want your groom to be walking around with lipstick stains on his face now, would you? P.S. Nicole’s transfer-proof and soft blurred pout was done with M.A.C Cosmetics’ Powder Kiss Liquid Lipcolour.

#5 Know your angles

Wedding photos last a lifetime, so it’s only natural to want to make sure that everything is picture-perfect. Besides doing skin care at home, Nicole also made a stop at Mizu Aesthetic, an aesthetic clinic that does anti-ageing and skin rejuvenation treatments, as well as non-invasive face augmentation, to get photo-ready for the wedding.

“It’s also good to know which is your ‘better side’ for photos,” she adds.

#6 Get enough sleep

You’d definitely need your beauty sleep, especially the night before! Nicole recommends a warm cup of chamomile tea to calm the nerves if you have trouble sleeping just before the big day.
