For starters, you may want to start with a marker tip eyeliner. The second from the left. It is easier to control. Remember to let it dry before you open your eyes!

This is a clear Youtube video outlining how to draw the perfect eyeliner for monolids.
We can certainly learn from Youtube Beauty Vlogger, J Wong.
Some of the pictures below are taken from her video.
1. Tightlining & Winging
Follow the curve of your waterline and extend it for the shape of your wing.

2. Create The Triangle : Thick or Thin?
From the end of the wing, connect the eyeliner down back to your eyelid the way you want it to be. In this video, the eyeliner choice is more intense and high. Feel free to adjust it according to your preference!
3. Start layering with a plan
Put a dot in the middle and mark the highest point of your layers.
Now, open your eyes and take a look.
Is it too low? Is it too high?
Once you're ready you may fill it in.
Tadah!

This technique works for many and it's easy for beginners. Well, from the video, the end results is a little too intense for my liking and it might be for you too. While keeping this technique is a good eye make-up foundation, do it your way and your style! Keep exploring! Eyeshadows would be great friends to highlight and create the look that you want.
Also, double eyelid stickers/glue can help you create the extra crease for a double eyelid. For some, the use of falsies automatically create a double eyelid temporarily.
