With recent developments of the endemic and tighter restrictions in place, overseas travel remains a luxury most can't afford. So we turn to the next best thing: Living vicariously through the lens of others. While doing so, we chanced upon a new Snoopy-themed teahouse and chocolate shop that fans of the adorable beagle might want to add to their itinerary list on their next visit to Oita, Japan.

Located in Yufuin, Oita prefecture, Snoopy Cha-ya is a Japanese teahouse that features a minimalist interior with wooden furniture. Decorating the walls are well-known Peanuts characters such as Charlie Brown, Sally Brown, Lucy and our beloved beagle.

On its menu are Peanuts-inspired dishes such as the Snoopy Bungo Chicken Toriten Plate  (~S$12.70) that's made with locally sourced ingredients such as chicken from the Bungo province. The dish also features edible cut-outs of Snoopy and his best friend Woodstock.

For those with a sweet tooth, the teahouse also offers a plethora of desserts that look almost too adorable to eat! Check out this Soufflé pancake (~S$12.70) topped with a Snoopy manju with matcha ice-cream and brown sugar syrup served on the side.

The teahouse also has a merch store that sells everything you need to pledge allegiance to the Peanuts gang. Since Yufuin is known for its hot springs, the Yukemuri Onsen Series includes a tote bag, towel, tumbler, pouch, and more.

That's not all! Located right next door is a new Snoopy Chocolat branch that sells Snoopy-themed snacks. Exclusive to this outpost are pistachio-flavoured chocolate desserts which include the Roll Stick Chocolat (S$12.70), and Crunch Chocolat (S$12.80).
