All You Need To Know About 'Crazy Rich Asians' The Movie

2. There will (most probably) be a sequel

There has already been talks about a sequel to the film as the series is a trilogy with the two other preceding novels, China Rich Girlfriend and Rich People Problems. Sources say this could be dependent on the box-office success of this first film.
3. Producers originally wanted to cast a Caucasian for the heroine.

Kwan said that producers told him to cast a white heroine as the lead. But he flatly rejected.
"They wanted to change the heroine into a white girl. I was like, Well, you’ve missed the point completely. No, thank you."
4. You take a Crazy Rich Asians–themed tour of Singapore

Phil Choo, an ardent fan of the novel, has been offering unofficial Crazy Rich Asians–themed tours of Singapore since 2014. Places visited include "Anglo-Chinese School", where Nick and Colin attended grade school; Dempsey Hill, where Astrid and Michael had their first date; and a luxurious house located at 35 Ridout Road. The three-hour tour take you from places mentioned in the book and locations featured in the film.

Kevin Kwan, the author of the book said, "Crazy Rich Asians may be fiction, but given the situation I grew up in, I've had an unparalleled view into the very real world it depicts. I come from an old establishment family from Singapore. Our family tree goes back to the year 946." The book was inspired by real characters in his life.
