Free-Entry Pastel Rainbow Installation In Singapore Comes Alive With Neon Lights At Night, Open Till 3 Jan
Missed the Lite On! exhibition and its rainbow Shades of Self tunnel earlier this year? More multicoloured fun awaits at Downtown East, with Wave Hello - another free-entry pop-up that’s pastel by day, neon at night. While we previously gave it a shoutout in a compilation of new things to do in Singapore, we think this stunning installation deserves more limelight before it ends its run in less than a month’s time.

Wave Hello is a joint project between local art collective Space Objekt and artist Aeropalmics - the former of which was the mastermind behind the earlier Shades of Self set-up. Inspired by soft waves in water, it was created to celebrate curiosity, new perspectives, and the joy of exploring uncharted spaces.

While the installation space isn’t one that sprawls across hundreds of metres, there’s lots to discover within this compact plot. Make your way through the undulating tunnels and view it from multiple angles - it’s a different sight at every spot!

During the day, the structure has a kawaii candyland sort of vibe with its soft, pastel colours in all shades of the rainbow. This makes it perfect for OOTD shots in similarly-coloured outfits, as influencer May Green (@may_6reen) has perfectly demonstrated.

You’ll want to hang around till night, for that’s when the installation comes alive with the glow of neon lights, with music playing in the background to further amplify the mood. You’ll also spot coloured shadows being cast here and there, giving the set-up added depth and dimension.
