If you chose A&A, try… Here Kitty Kitty

Tired of drinking at the same few spots? Take your date to Here Kitty Kitty, a speakeasy bar concept by Zouk. Fashioned after a 1950s vice den, be intrigued at every corner at Here Kitty Kitty, with its cheeky decor and many cosy corners.

The Japanese-inspired food and drink menu here is no slouch either. For food, try the indulgent Wagyu Sando ($68 ++) which is filled with a luxe trio of Karubi Wagyu beef, caviar and uni. If you’re looking to just have bar snacks, try the Kawa Ebi ($16++), aka deep-fried river shrimp. Those feeling adventurous can go for the Fugu & Ehire Shioyaki ($16++). Yes, you heard that right - it’s salt-grilled dried pufferfish and stingray fin, served with spicy mayo.

And of course, you can’t talk about a speakeasy without mentioning the drinks. The cocktails here are Japanese spirit-forward, and what caught our eye include the Here Kitty Kitty Highball ($22++), made with Kabukin and Chita whiskey, and the Ume Whisky Sour ($24++), which packs a surprising punch.

Here Kitty Kitty is at Blk E #02-01, Clarke Quay.

If you chose A&B, try… MOS Burger Express

If you only have time to grab and go, but you’re sick and tired of the same few options, try MOS Burger Express, which carries exclusive items that are not available at the main franchise. Besides the popular rice burger range, MOS Burger Express also offers wholemeal croissants with smoked duck, crispy chicken or King Oyster mushroom ($6 - $6.50 each), as well as three types of salad cups ($5.50 each).

MOS Burger Express is at #02-37/38 Funan.

If you chose A&C, try… Chorong Pocha and HOPHEADS

Miss travelling and discovering new places? While an overseas vacay might still be some time away, you can get a taste of Korea at Clarke Quay with Chorong Pocha opening soon in December.

Inspired by Korea’s street food scene and its iconic pojangmacha (tented wagon), you can find Korean Soju, beer and trendy street food such as spicy rice cakes, rabokki (ramen + toppoki), cheesy corn dog, Korean fried chicken, gimmari (seaweed roll) and more.

The night doesn’t just end there, head on over to HOPHEADS after you’ve had your fill of street food for more drinks and good vibes. You can expect promotions such as 2 shots going for $9.90++, 3 bottles of soju for $55++ and much, much more.

Chorong Pocha is at Blk D #01-13, Clarke Quay. HOPHEADS is at Blk A #01-06, Clarke Quay.

If you chose A&D, try… Minion Café

Embrace your inner child at the pop-up Minion Café. Don’t knock the food just because it’s Minion-inspired - this concept is by the same people behind The Riverhouse and The Summerhouse, so you can expect a certain standard with the menu. If you’re here for brunch, go for the Minion Big Pan Breakfast ($28) made with Beyond sausage and your usual brunch suspects like sunny side-ups and avocados. For sharing, try the Minion Kelong Prawn and Scallop Pizza ($32), or if you prefer something more local, the Minion Singapore Prawn Noodle ($24).

Just for the festive season, the Minion Café also has two special Christmas dishes. First is the Minion Christmas Turkey Ham Eggs Benny ($22++) - turkey ham, runny sous vide eggs and hollandaise sauce served over a toasty bagel. For sharing, there’s the Minion Christmas Smoked Turkey Mayo Pizza ($32++), which is a delicious medley of smoked turkey ham, leek, scallions, mayo and balsamico served atop a fluffy pizza crust.

Have kids or big fans of the Minions in your dinner group? Then don’t miss the Meet & Greet sessions happening on 20 and 21 Dec, at 12pm, 2:30pm and 5:30pm. Each session lasts for 30 minutes!

Minion Café is at Blk A, 01-01A/01-01B/01-01C/01-01D Clarke Quay till 2 January 2022.

If you chose B&A, try… Café Kuriko

The one thing you MUST order at Café Kuriko is the Mont Blanc, which they specialise in. This stunning dessert is made by swirling strands of creamy chestnut or purple sweet potato paste atop a pastry base made with chestnut or cheese - your choice! If you’re looking for something more savoury and filling, Café Kuriko is also dishing up cha-nabe, a one-pot Japanese soup dish that is served with either housemade udon or rice.

Café Kuriko is at #01-11 Funan.

If you chose B&B, try… Quick Greens and Fruit Pai

Takeaway can make for a healthy meal, and these two stores at Funan proves it. Grab your main from Quick Greens (there’s seating available too!), which has a 100% plant-based menu of wraps, salads and burgers to choose from. Fresh, fast and guilt-free! For dessert, swing by the Fruit Pai kiosk. There are fresh-cut fruits available, but we highly recommend trying the Chao Shan-style fruit salad, which is an assortment of fresh fruits that is served with housemade liquorice sauce and dipping powder.

Quick Greens is at #02-04 Funan, Fruit Pai is at #B2-K17 Funan.

If you chose B&C, try… Makanan Bollywood

One of the best ways to satiate hunger is with a hearty plate of biryani. Makanan Bollywood started as a pushcart near Capitol Theater in 1968, and the business has since been passed down two generations. You can now find the latest iteration of Makanan Bollywood at Funan, where they are still serving up their Speciality Dum Biryani - a fragrant mix of meat, herb, spices and basmati rice - plus a full menu of Indian Muslim dishes, including Roti Prata.

Makanan Bollywood is at #B2-23 Funan.

If you chose B&D, try… SG Hawker
