Fans of true crime stories would be familiar with Jack the Ripper - an English serial killer who solely targeted prostitutes in London, and unfortunately, never got caught. Through the decades, numerous film and book adaptations of the story have been born out of this grisly unsolved mystery, and now, there’s a Korean live musical version starring oppas Lee Hong Ki from FTISLAND, Nam Woo Hyun from INFINITE, MJ from ASTRO, and In Seong from SF9.

Sticking true to the original story but adapted slightly to suit Korean audiences and K-Pop fans, the plotline of this live musical surrounds a detective trying to crack the case, a surgeon named Daniel who is somehow entangled in the events, and a news reporter hot on the scoop.

While your fave idols won’t be flying down in person to serenade you with their singing chops and sick dance moves, the live production will be streamed in real time from the big stage in Korea to the big screens in Singapore, with the aforementioned Korean idols will be taking turns to play Daniel on different days. The show’s happening on 4 days only, with some timings already sold out or selling fast, so be quick!

Indie book cafe Huggs-Epigram Coffee Bookshop was one of the local businesses that sadly had to call it a day after a long struggle with pandemic-related challenges, but here’s the silver lining: Their closure in August earlier this year doesn’t mean you’ve seen the last of them.  They’re still supporting and giving visibility to SingLit authors with their current Epigram Coffee Bookshop Pop-Up, which opened on 16 August and will be running for 5 months till January.

Currently housed in Looksee Looksee, a stylish reading room and tea cafe under The Lo & Behold Group, the pop-up, like its predecessor, focuses solely on Singaporean authors. #20: Feast your eyes on a giant 5.6m BE@RBRICK statue, the world’s largest

Giant BE@RBRICK installation SingaporePhoto from Action City

Raffles City is doing Christmas a little differently this year. Instead of the traditional fir trees full of baubles and string lights, their festive centrepiece is a massive 5.6-metre BE@RBRICK 8000% statue, the world’s tallest! If you’re wondering about the 8000% number - this basically means that it’s a whopping 8000 times the size of a regular BE@RBRICK figurine.

Surrounding it are other BE@RBRICK figurines - including the BE@RBRICK Candy Cane 2000% - and other futuristic-looking structures like a rocket and a reimagined Christmas tree that looks like a cross between the Eiffel Tower and something out of a Sci-Fi movie. Head into the mall for even more!
