Read on for a list of fun date ideas in Funan and Clarke Quay this Christmas!
#1 Find out which cocktail suits your personality
From 24 November - 5 December, look out for these digital cocktail machines located at Clarke Quay’s Fountain Square from 5pm - 9pm.
With a minimum spend of $20 at any outlets in Clarke Quay, you’ll get to redeem one play at the machine to find out what kind of cocktail you are. It will then dispense a ticket, which you can use at participating outlets* for your chosen cocktail. The ticket will also get you $5 off your cocktail, and the first 10 customers to use the machines will receive an additional dining voucher!
*Participating outlets: Gabbar Bistro & Bar, Le Noir, Holey Moley Golf Club, Cuba Libre Cafe & Bar, Harry’s Clarke Quay, Little Saigon, Highlander Bar & Restaurant, Capital Kitchen, HOPHEADS and Octapas Spanish Tapas Bar.
#2 Take up a couple’s challenge at Zouk’s Capital Kitchen
Turn date night into game night every Thursday at Capital Kitchen (Blk C, #01-05/06), where there will be special challenges, and prizes to be won. We won’t spoil the surprise by telling you what’s in store, but what we can reveal is that with a minimum spend of $100, you and your date will get to enjoy a complimentary bottle of Zouk’s Signature Cocktails or Shooters.
#3 Visit the First-Ever Molly 15: Into The Future Exhibit
If you or your date are fans of POP MART Molly, then you wouldn’t want to miss the first-ever space-themed Molly exhibition happening at Funan. Titled “Molly 15: Into The Future” Exhibit, fans can get up close to exclusive Molly figurines, including: Mega Space Molly Watermelon, Mega Space Molly Return Series, Mega Space Molly Blank, Mega Space Molly Toffee and Mega Space Molly x Spongebob Squarepants. You’d also be amongst the first in the world to see Mega Space Molly Christmas 400% and 1000%, as they’re being exhibited for the first time exclusively at Funan.
#4 Sign up for a craft workshop at Funan
Tired of the same old dates? Switch things up by crafting something together! There are plenty of crafting workshops to choose from at Funan this Christmas season. If you and your partner love cooking, sign up for BERNINA’S monogram placemats workshop or their apron sewing workshop. Fancy crafting your own leather bag? Anastasia By Raine is offering a free workshop for that - you’d only need to pay for the materials used. After you’re done, pop by Photomatic, a self studio where you can take photos to remember the date!
#5 Discover new brands to shop at Funan
Ever heard of Mulawear? The athleisure brand is well-known in Korea for its durable activewear - its yoga tights are made to last for 6 years or more! With a pop-up store at Funan, you can now check out the pieces for yourself in a physical retail space.
Looking to support small local businesses? Have a shop around W Market, a multi-brand store that showcases products from local businesses - from apparel to home decor and more!
#6 Beat an IG filter game and get half-off drinks
Who wouldn’t like half-off their first drink of the evening? From now till 30 December, play a round of Bottoms Up! (look out for the IG filter on Clarke Quay’s Instagram page) and score more than 15 points to enjoy your first drink at half-price.
Promotion is available from Monday to Thursday, 4pm - 7pm at participating outlets. Do share your high score, tag Clarke Quay and the outlet* on Instagram to claim your discount.
*Participating outlets at Clarke Quay include: RedTail by Zouk, Cuba Libre and Octapas Spanish Tapas Bar, Harry’s Clarke Quay, Highlander Bar & Restaurant, Holey Moley Golf Club, Hooters Singapore, House of Seafood, Le Noir, Little Saigon and Thai-Khun Bar and Street Foods.
#7 Indulge in Happy Hour across Clarke Quay
Just because we’re WFH doesn’t mean that we can’t indulge in a little happy hour, right? And since Clarke Quay is home to more than 40 homegrown and international dining concepts, you’ll definitely be spoilt for choice when it comes to happy hour.
For instance, Le Noir (Blk C #01-01) has daily happy hours happening from 4pm - 7pm, with drinks going from $9++. If you’re more of a beer person, try Gabbar Bistro Bar (Blk B #01-14), where there’s a one-for-one on all house pours and beers on tap ($14) from 5pm - 8pm, Monday to Thursday.
If your work hours are flexible, you’ll be delighted to know that Harry’s (Blk D #01-01) happy hour is an all-day affair - with special prices on every two pints of beer happening daily from opening to closing. Meanwhile, Little Saigon (Blk E #01-02) has 50% off beers, house wine, Asian cocktails and house pour spirits happening all day too.
If you’re wondering where is a good place to go for one final round of drinks before calling it a night, try Capital Kitchen (Blk C, #01-05/06), where one-for-one house pours are happening all night, every Tuesday to Saturday.
#8 Play some mini-golf
Still looking for things to do after all of that excitement? Then drop by Holey Moley Golf Club at Clarke Quay (Blk B, #01-01) for some mini-golf - we guarantee that it’s loads of fun, even with just 2 pax! Currently there’s a special Par-Tee for 2 deal ($60++), where you’ll get to enjoy 9 holes of golf each, two cocktails and a 30cm pizza of your choice. How’s that for a non-boring date?
