New Sanrio Store At Orchard Has Kawaii Merch, Free Goodie Bag With $10 Voucher & Claw Machine Tokens
If you’ve kept up with news of Singapore’s Sanrio scene, you would have known that the flagship Sanrio Store at Orchard announced their temporary closure back in September, much to the anguish of fans. After more than a month’s hiatus, they’re finally back with a new look and new merch that are more kawaii than before.
As part of their grand re-opening, they’re now giving out free goodie bags, tokens for claw machines and gachapon, as well as lucky wheel spins with sure-win prizes!
Read on to find out more about the Sanrio Store at Orchard!
The revamped Sanrio flagship store at Orchard Road is located on Level 4 of Takashimaya department store’s at Ngee Ann City. It’s currently the only one of its kind in Singapore, since the Marina Square branch closed its shutters permanently a while back.
The store now sports a pastel candy coloured-look - featuring none other than your favourite Sanrio characters with motifs of sweets, flowers, and all things happy and cute. There are also 3D character cut-outs perched on the shelves and pillars. Spot Hello Kitty, My Melody, Little Twin Stars, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi and more!
Don’t look down on its seemingly small kiosk space, for there are in fact over 2000 items here, with 200 new ones added every month! You can thus be sure that every visit will have you excited over the newest launches, shipped straight from Japan.
Products here range from practical household items like cutlery, to fashion picks like handbags and tees, and frivolous but irresistibly cute ones like plushies and figurines.
If you’re not already a Sanrio Store member, quit waiting and get your name down, stat! It’s free-of-charge to sign up, and on top of that, you’ll get a complimentary goodie bag worth $50. This includes a welcome gift (packet of stickers), $10 birthday voucher, 2 game tokens, and 100 Smile Points - while stocks last.
The tokens can be used on the various game machines, namely the claw machine filled with plushies, sweet land machine, and gachapon with little trinkets like keychains and figurines. The claw machine requires only 1 token, while the gachapon machine requires 3, but only the latter gives you a guaranteed prize. If you’re not a big risk-taker, you know which machine to spend your tokens on!
Every $20 spent gets you 1 token, while every $50 spent gets you a try at the Ribbon Spin counter - basically a lucky wheel where you get a sure-win prize. The size of your prize choices will depend on the number of ribbons scored (from 1 to 3). More ribbons means an option to choose bigger prizes like bags and purses, and the best part is that your ribbons can be accumulated!
Good news for those who are planning to go all out without restraint: Spend at least $100 and you’ll receive a $50 goodie bag with random Sanrio merchandise! This could include stationery, pouches, pencil cases.
The Sanrio Store at Takashimaya Orchard is a permanent store, but the goodie bags and game machines might only be around for a limited period of time. There’s no end date specified, so it’d be best to head down ASAP to avoid disappointment!
