Thanks to Crazy Rich Asians, our local celebs finally got their big break in Hollywood!

On August 7, Asian stars dominated the TCL Chinese Theatre for the Hollywood premiere of Crazy Rich Asians, a movie adapted from Kevin Kwan's bestselling novel that's expected to hit our big screen this month.

Besides the fact that it's the first Hollywood movie to feature an all-Asian lead cast, the movie is set in SINGAPORE. Woohoo!

Apart from half-British, half-Malaysian lead actor Henry Golding (who's based in Singapore btw), the movie also features some familiar faces from our Lion City.

Mediacorp actor Pierre Png, who plays Michael Teo aka the character Astrid' husband, said:

Fiona Xie, our Mediacorp star who just made her return to TV, plays Kitty Pong, a Hong Kong soap-opera star. She can be seen having the time of her life through her instastory; flooded with epic moments from the premiere.

Tan Kheng Hua, a veteran actress in our local scene plays Kerry Chua, the mother of female lead actress Constance Wu in Crazy Rich Asians.

Singaporean actress Amy Cheng takes on the role of Jacqueline Ling, the mother of heiress Mandy.

Former Nominated Member of Parliament Janice Koh also landed a role in the movie as Felicity Young as one of male lead Nick Young (Henry Golding)'s family members.
