Haw Par Villa's Ten Courts Of Hell Reopens Along With A New Museum & Activities
Haw Par Villa, Singapore's grisly yet fascinating cultural theme park, is set to officially relaunch on Thursday, 28 October 2021, and be open to the public on 29 October.
This comeback sees the opening of Hell's Museum, the only attraction in the world dedicated to the afterlife, and the reopening of the Ten Courts of Hell.

Hell's Museum
Hell's Museum is a new addition to Haw Par Villa that aims to provide a unique view on how the afterlife is viewed and interpreted across religions, cultures and the ages.

In the age of Instagram and TikTok, it's no surprise that the museum starts off with a photo area of Heaven and Hell.

This photo area would've been all the rage when Lil Nas X dropped his Montero (Call Me My Your Name) music video earlier this year. Then again, it's never too late to channel your inner angel getting beamed up to Heaven, or demon twerking and pole dancing to Hell.

The immersive exhibition features specially commissioned videos and multi-media elements that will offer visitors insight into how people around the world view the afterlife and their practices when a loved one is laid to rest.

One corner is dedicated to Mexican culture with a shrine for Día de los Muertos.

There's also a section exploring funerals and burials in Singapore. Many of the younger generation in Singapore are losing their cultural roots, and that's the case with funeral processions as well. Those who have gone through the motions of a traditional Chinese funeral without understanding its significance will find this side of the exhibition an enlightening experience.

Hell's Museum will be open to the public from 29 October 2021, with tickets priced at $18 for adults aged 13 years and above and $10 for children aged 7 - 12 years.
Ten Courts of Hell
Stretching over 3,800 sqm, Hell's Museum also serves as a prelude to Haw Par Villa's Ten Courts of Hell.

Opening Weekend Programme
During Hell's Museum's opening weekend from 29 to 31 October, visitors can enjoy various activities including park tours by Haw Par Villa park ambassadors, Chinese ink painting classes & tea appreciation, and Halloween-themed picnic sets by Glamping Society.

The Haw Par Villa team has also amped up their attraction to more than just sculptures and dioramas to look at. Starting from January 2022, there will be a line-up of activities for the public to participate in including:
