Sometimes, we joke that animals live better lives than we do - there’s no need to work or think about stressful things like budgeting for your HDB. All you need to do is eat, sleep, poop, and have humans gush over how cute you are, simply for existing. For the Syrian hamster trio of @duoguotongdiary, we’re convinced that this is true, for they’re blessed with the fanciest tea party setups that come with the cutest mini hamster-friendly treats.

@duoguotongdiary is a fairly new Instagram account set up by the Singapore-based owner of 3 adorable Syrian hamsters. There’s 朵朵 (Duo Duo) born on 14th Februrary 2021, 果果 (Guo Guo) born on 5th May 2021, and 铜铜 (Tong Tong) born on 10th June 2021.

The 3 hamsters live in some of the most aesthetically-pleasing hamster enclosures we’ve seen, complete with dried flowers, fluffy beds, mini flower pots for hiding in, and wooden hamster wheels for exercise.

EDIT: The hamsters live in separate enclosures from each other. Syrian hamsters cannot live together and it is important that they are kept separately to prevent fighting.

Even their food and water bowls are made of terracotta and wood. This is certainly a unique change from the usual plastic hamster supplies, and this simple touch bumps up the visual appeal of the whole set-up by leaps and bounds. We’re not sure if the hamsters have the ability to appreciate it, but we sure do!

That’s not all, though. Their owner also pampers them with little “tea parties” complete with fancy set-ups featuring faux flowers, miniature furniture, and props like candy carts.

While there are plastic confectionery items adding colour to the overall picture, the hamsters are also given their own edible treats. Despite looking like human food - such as cake, pancakes, and waffles - these are all hamster-friendly, so not to worry.

These tea parties also double up as photoshoot setups, and their owner snaps the loveliest photos of them as they’re happily nibbling on their snacks.

They even received their own hamster mooncakes for Mid-Autumn Festival this year! Here’s a rare photo of all 3 of them in the same frame.

And here’s Guo Guo on a “first date” with her pianist boyfriend for her 100 days celebration ?

If only we were hamsters too. We'd love to live a life like this!
