Oh boy, here we go again. Yup, restrictions are back for pretty much the entire month now, but at this point, are we even surprised anymore? It appears that 2021 is just a repeat of last year, but if it’s any comfort, the severity of cases isn’t as bad now that a majority of us have gotten our shots. Having caught the 1.5-hour show ourselves, we must say that it’s worth a watch. The intimate, circular set-up of the seats is such that you’ll get a good eyeful of the fun in store even if you’re at the last row. If you do, however, decide to snag a front row space, be prepared for a bit of a splash from the first steamy act! ;) You’ve been warned.

#3: Cuddle fluffy kitties at Paws Claws cat cafe

Singapore’s newest cat cafe, Paws Claws, is a little different from the rest. For one, they’re all personal pets of the owner and super pampered - so there’s no need to worry about any ethical issues that are often associated with animal cafes. Another thing is that these felines are all Ragamuffins, so every one of them is fluffy, docile, and unique-looking. Some even have folded ears, a characteristic of the Scottish Fold!

Entry is only $12 and patrons will receive a complimentary Kitty Meringue Biscuit. They do have plans to serve affordable cakes and beverages in the future, so keep a lookout for that!

#4: Embark on a sunset yacht cruise with BBQ dinner and free-flow champagne

#5: Get spooked at the Halloween Horror Nights Exhibition 2021

The 10th edition of HHN in Singapore is a little different from previous years’. Due to current restrictions, the annual spookfest will be back this year as the Halloween Horror Nights Exhibition - where you’ll get a glimpse of how the costumes, props, and setups from the past 9 years have come to life.
It’s not quite the same as the usual haunted houses and scream zones, but hey, we’ll take it - this sure beats having it cancelled like last year. Besides, it’s rare that one gets such a close behind-the-scenes look of this intricately-planned event, so grab this unique opportunity while you can - we might not get a similar chance next year!

Much like what we remember from our teenage years, these instant photo booth machines allow you to add cute stickers, borders, and doodles to your snapshots before they’re printed out as strips to divide with your friends.

#8: Cruise along a neon-lit track with Sentosa’s Night Luge

Sentosa’s Skyline Luge has been operating as a day attraction for years now, but their Night Luge - which ended its run a while ago - is finally back! Cruise along a mesmerising neon-lit track on a sled-like car, which you will manoeuvre by swinging its handles from left to right, and race your buddy to see who can get to the end first!

No driving licenses are required. The experience is less intense than go-karting, but adrenaline-inducing all the same - navigating your way up and down those undulating paths is made all the more exciting with the rainbow lights illuminating the way!

Night Luge sessions are held on Fridays and Saturdays from 7pm to 9.30pm. We recommend arriving after the sun sets so that the lights can shine more vibrantly against the darkness.

#10: Cycle on the waters of Pasir Ris Beach with Singapore's first Water Bike rental

Walking on water may only be for the divine, but you can now cycle on the seas of Pasir Ris Beach with Singapore’s first-ever Water Bike rental. It works just like a regular land bicycle, but in place of wheels are a pair of long floats that allow you to effortlessly glide through water at up to 15km/h.

It’s perfectly safe even if you can’t swim, as life jackets will be provided. In any case, with the special catamaran configuration of the bikes, capsizing is virtually impossible. You’ll also be given walkie talkies for communication with your friends and the ground team, as well as a dry bag to store your valuables.

Vampires who are concerned about the sun ruining their makeup or causing burns needn’t worry - you can always opt to have a wind-proof umbrella installed to your bike for shade. In fact, a pet tandem board can also be added so your furkid (up to 30kg) can sit and relax as you pedal along.

#11: Revel in all things Mickey-related with a Disney pop-up exhibition

Mickey Mouse is bringing his funhouse to Suntec City with Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration, where tons of vibrant installations and photo spots await. These include a psychedelic mirrored room, giant bow sofa, mural gallery, and mesmerising Sorcerer Mickey's Magic Room - a dark, star-lit space that’s reminiscent of teamlab’s exhibitions.

Apart from these are also prints of the classic Mickey Mouse comics in black and white, as well as a Mickey at Disneyland zone - the closest we can get to the Happiest Place on Earth in the meantime.

#12: Spend some time in nature at Bukit Gombak Park, located on a hill

We could all do with some fresh air from time to time, and the newly-opened Bukit Gombak Park (not to be confused with Bukit Gombak Nature Park) is a new nature spot where you can get just that. Located on a hill, this tranquil space with an open lawn, a dog run, and sloping looped trek path also has a butterfly garden.

It’s a node in the Bukit Batok Nature Corridor, which forms a link between the Central Nature Park Network and Tengah Forest Corridor. If you’re up for a bit of a sweat, make your way from here to Bukit Batok Nature Park, and further on to Hindhede Nature Park and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve - or vice versa.

#15: Sign up for Tiong Bahru Bakery’s new sourdough workshop

Those who are fans of Tiong Bahru Bakery’s famous sourdough bakes will want to sign up for their brand new sourdough workshop where you’ll be learning how to create your own bread - using a special 160-year-old starter given to Chef Paul when he was working at Slow Bakery in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

All materials including a starter kit and bread lame will be provided, so you can continue baking your own heavenly creations using the same recipe and the skills you’ve learnt during the workshop. #19: Admire the Miffy-themed Mid-Autumn displays at Gardens by the Bay

There’s still time to catch Gardens by the Bay’s Mid-Autumn lantern installations before they end their run on 3 October. This year’s decor seems to be focused on rabbits, with a Rabbits Trail as well as a massive lantern sculpture snaking up a Supertree, featuring a pair of bunnies releasing sky lanterns as enchanting music plays in the background,

But that’s not all there is to the rabbit theme, for the cartoon character Miffy also makes an appearance in the Flower Dome, where the Miffy Gardens lie. This includes a mix of glowing lantern flowers amidst real blooms, surrounded by osthmanthus trees.

In addition to these are a romantic grove of origami crane trees, Korean hanoks, and illuminated oriental pagodas.
