Warner/Chappell Music, the management of Tanya's works, also issued a statement on Weibo on Sunday denying that the two songs were similar.

After comparing both songs, it shows that Halfway is sung in C major while Taylor Swift's Safe And Sound is in E minor. According to them, both songs also differ in tune, composition and chord progression.

They also shared that they will take all necessary actions to investigate any false accusations and safeguard the rights of their contracted creators.

On Friday, Tanya shared a post on Weibo that every artiste's biggest nightmare would be to face accusations of plagiarism. For someone who's written hudreds of songs in the past two decades, there were some of her works that some may remember as questionable but she says that she disagrees with the act and promise that she will never plagiarise.

With regards to Halfway, Chua said it was inspired by her own creation and she could not see how it was similar to Swift's Safe And Sound.
