Yang Feng, a man in China, was left heartbroken when his 32-year-old fiance Xiao Hui passed on in a hospital in Zhengzhou, China moments before they married each other. She died of chronic myeloid leukaemia- a type of cancer where the bone marrow makes abnormal white blood cells.

Yang Feng also recalls that Xiao Hui's bridal gown (which was unfortunately not worn till today) was hanging by her hospital bed.

When she breathed her last on Sunday at about 5.20pm, Yang Feng fought back tears as he spoke to reporters at the hospital, in a video that has since been uploaded on YouTube channel Shi Pin San Tiao.

"If only I had gotten to know her earlier."

When They First Met

Xiao Hui was diagnosed when she was 24, something she told Yang Feng when they met two years ago during a delivery trip when Xiao Hui hitched a ride.

Though he knew her days were numbered, he was determined that he wants to be with her forever, or in their case, as long as they could.

When her condition deteriorated rapidly on Friday, Aug 10, Yang Feng decided it was time to marry her- even if it means they have to exchange their vows in hospital.

He said to the news website:

"I found her pitiful at first, but as we interacted more, I wanted to take care of her all her life, and I started to pursue her."
