Some fans were sharp enough to notice that Michelle Phan changed her Youtube Channel's profile picture 2 months ago. The question is, "Is she coming back to Youtube?" She left about 2 years ago on a journey we can call, 'self-discovery', is it permanent or just a hiatus?

This short 11 minutes video is incredibly relatable and to a certain extent, heartbreaking especially for fans who watched her youtube videos since 2007. Imagine more than 10 years down, people are still looking out for Michelle Phan.  That's quite something!

Back then, I was someone who show you how to look beautiful. Next, i want to show you how to feel beautiful.

Indeed she did. In an interview with The Klog, Michelle expressed,

Our skin is the largest organ in our body and it communicates with us. When we're seeing redness, it's our skin's way of saying, "Hey, there's an issue here." If I'm just covering it, I'm hiding these issues and placing them on the back-burner. Doing so built up this insecurity I had where foundation felt like my security blanket. If I wasn't wearing foundation, I didnt 'feel' like myself. Seeing flawless filtered faces online, my perception of healthy skin was warped and unrealistic.

She has been sticking to her no-foundation conviction for 2 years now. Triggered or rather, inspired by the stress and negativity within her, she wanted to feel beautiful inside out. The pursuit of perfect makeup tires her out and then, she made the decision to leave Youtube and never looked back since. She has gone completely free from foundation and significantly lesser makeup. She is all about reducing our dependence on makeup and yet feel beautiful inside out. To Michelle, skincare is the most important for a long-lasting beauty while makeup does its job of giving that instant gratification.

Important beauty advise from makeup-guru Michelle Phan,

"So first, have a proper diagnosis on your skin. From there, you can start implementing things. Like OK, my skin is dry, so I should get a really hydrating moisturizer and start using a mask. Baby steps. Skin care doesn’t have to be complicated. We have the ability to repair our skin. Even if you damage it, the damage isn’t done. You can reverse it. The skin has the ability to heal itself, you just have to know the right techniques and adopt a healthy habit. It pays off in the long run, believe me."
