'They're Unconventional': Kalki Koechlin Reveals Her Family's Reaction On Her Pregnancy

Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin, who is in her third trimester, recently appeared on Kareena Kapoor Khan's radio show, What Women Want. And, oh my my we actually want a lot of things she spoke about. Let us begin with her 'unconventional' parents for starters. The conversation revolved around Kalki's pregnancy - her boyfriend Guy Hershberg and their families reaction to the pregnancy. And we have to admit, it is certainly not how regular Indian parents would react. Forget giving birth to a child out of wedlock, some of us are still struggling in introducing partners to our family.

When Kareena Kapoor asked her about what their families had to say, Kalki said that both their families are quite unconventional and aren't too traditional in the sense of having to be married to have a child. "My mother is like 'Look, next time you marry, just make sure it's for life.' Because I have already been divorced once. So she wasn't in a big hurry."

Kalki was earlier married to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and the two tied the knot back in 2011. The couple parted ways in 2013 and got divorced in 2015.

While speaking about her ex-husband, Anurag, she said both of them were in different time zones when they got married and that's the reason it didn't work out. " It's so much about timing, right? Like, maybe I was very young and he was much older, and the timing just wasn't correct. We wanted different things at that point. I think that makes a big difference." The two share a friendly equation with each other, as of for now.

Coming back to her pregnancy, Kalki said that while she was not against the idea of getting married to Guy, but she did not want to rush just because she was expecting a baby. Further, revealing her wedding plans, she said while she is not opposed to the idea of tying the knot, she feels that the time hasn't arrived yet.

The Gully Boy actress also revealed her first reaction on getting pregnant. Kalki said that she could not believe it at first and it took her 2-3 days to let that sink. However, both Kalki and her bae, Guy were on the same page about wanting to have the baby. Kalki added, "It was unexpected. We were planning in maybe a year or two to have kids. Definitely, it was unexpected, but we both felt like we want to go with it."
