A new social media app called nospace is launching in June, designed specifically for Gen Z. Developed by Tiffany Zhong from California, the app is inspired by the Y2K nostalgia trend that's popular in pop culture.

Drawing inspiration from MySpace, a popular social media platform from the 2000s, (if you lived through this era, our wild guess is that you are probably around the same age as us, or older), nospace will enable users to personalise their profiles. They can show off their hobbies and interests with different colours, backgrounds, and fonts.

Rather than worrying about perfect posts or endlessly scrolling through social media, the app encourages users to share their thoughts in the moment about what they're eating, playing, watching, reading, and more.

nospace aims to bring back the vibe of early social media apps like MySpace and early Facebook, which focused on friendships and meeting new people. The App Store preview reveals that users can showcase a list of their close friends on their profile, similar to MySpace's 'top 8' friends feature.

"Remember how fun the internet was before all the algos and ads? we do too… so we're bringing it back," the app's description on the App Store states.

As of now, over 500,000 individuals have joined nospace's waiting list. The app is currently open for pre-download on the App Store, with automatic installation on your device upon its launch on 12 June, as stated on the official website. However, nospace is not yet accessible on the Google PlayStore.
